Stock Audit For A Consumer Electronics Brand

Objective

Client wanted us to conduct stock audits across its pan India distributor network in order to evaluate the inventory levels which would act as a key input in formulation of production strategy, distribution strategy and incentive plan for these distributors.

Approach

Key activities in project execution involved:

  • Profiling and sourcing of seasoned auditors confident to carry out large volume stock audits
  • Auditor training on audit process and flow of activities to ensure fool proof stock evaluation
  • Visit planning as per the dates and time frames provided by the client
  • Visit validation and report validation with appropriate photographic and document proofs

Some of the challenges that we faced were:

  • All audits across 100+ cities were to be completed in just 3 days
  • All warehouses located in different cities under same distributor had to be covered on same day
  • Actual warehouse count increased significantly from the list previously given

Outcome

  • All the assigned warehouses spread across 100+ cities were successfully audited within the short window of 3 days
  • Audit reports captured the individual IMEI number of the handsets (smart phone models, feature phone models and tablet models)
  • Distributor-wise and item-wise count of inventory lying in the warehouse was reported to the client
