Numbers are relative. Yet, some numbers ring more significant than others. 10,000 for example. On our blistering growth path our employee count crossed that mark last month.
“We have surpassed 10,000 employees this month, with a current count of 10,190, compared to 7,614 in August 2022—a 33.38% increase!,” shared Shashi Bakshi, HR Head at Channelplay, in a measured announcement.
The announcement seemed interesting. ‘Shashi, it took you 190 new employees to realise we have crossed 10,000?’ I asked her near the coffee machine. She laughed. It was clearly not a milestone we had eyes on. I laughed. Crossing it felt joyful nonetheless.
In the current quarter alone, Channelplay’s recruitment teams have hired 3,492 people across various projects throughout India.
“We can scale,” shares Sundeep Holani, Channelplay’s co-founder and co-CEO, when I ask him about the significance of the number. The pithiness is not for effect. It is a sign that our ambition far exceeds our achievements, sizeable as they may be.
